New Fraste FS 500 drilling rig in Ethiopia:
in March 2015 Fraste delivered a brand new water wells drilling rig, FRASTE FS 500 model, destined to the AFAR REGION, located in North-East of the African State.
This machine increases Fraste drilling rigs fleet already delivered in Ethiopia (about 25 units); all the machines are efficiently working and private and Governmental customers, which operate in water drilling field, are very satisfied with them.
Above FS 500, with 40 tons pull-up, is capable of 800/1000 m drilling depth; it is supplied with a 3-speeds Fraste R41 top drive rotary head with 2600 kgm max torque and 150 rpm max rotation speed.
It is mounted on 8x4 Extra Heavy Duty ASTRA truck, 480 HP; operation is given by a deck mounted diesel engine, Caterpillar C9, 355 HP. The assembly includes all the standard accessories for direct fluid circulation drilling with on board GD 7½’’ x 10’’ piston mud pump and accessories for DTH drilling with separated air compressor.
In August 2015 we provided for the on-site drilling rig commissioning with our professional technicians. The intervention obtained a great satisfaction by the customer, the Afar Regional Government, which expressed its approval about the new purchased machine and also about Fraste service, supported by the cooperation with our dealer in Ethiopia, M/S.
